Record sales for Diablo III and Skylanders

Diablo III sets a new sales record for PC video games
The latest title in Blizzard’s role-playing action game sold over 3.5 million copies in the first 24 hours, making it the fastest-selling PC video game of all time.* This number does not include the 1.2 million players who received Diablo III with their one-year subscription to World of Warcraft®. All told, over 4.7 million players worldwide snatched up a copy of Sanctuary on its launch day. And by the end of the first week, this figure had risen to over 6.3 million. The numbers do not include the players in Korea’s gaming halls, where Diablo III is the most popular game and has achieved a new percentage of use record: over 39% since late May.

The forces of evil are back! Some 20 years have passed since the demons were defeated and banished from the world of Sanctuary. But the time has come to return to Tristram to look into the rumors of a fallen shooting star, a sign that foretells the beginning of the end of time. Diablo III was released on May 15. The servers are now activated, giving fans the choice of buying the download version directly from Battle.net or acquiring a copy of the game from their usual retailer. It is available in standard and collector’s versions. For more information, visit Diablo III.
