Universal Music creates two new music channels for kids aged 8-12

In January 2012, Universal Music Enterprises (UMe), the centralized US catalog and special markets entity for Universal Music Group, teamed up with Rick Dobbis and Richard Ellis, the directors of two major music companies, to create myKaZooMusic and myKaZooTv. These interactive platforms offer children aged 8-12 an age-appropriate selection of music in a safe, entertaining, stimulating environment.

Farmer Jason, a character portrayed by country-punk pioneer Jason Ringenberg, is the first artist to sign with the MyKaZooMusic label. The songs on his first album, Nature Jams, aim to inspire children to take an interest in nature and explore the world around them. Furthermore, the wide variety of the music – from country to rock to zydeco – helps to expand the musical horizons of the young and young-at-heart.

This new online music offering from Universal Music, specially dedicated to children’s education and entertainment, is a concrete example of Vivendi’s efforts to protect and empower youth.
