Vivendi’s Coup de Coeur Award at Midem:what next for Webdoc

Six months after it won the Vivendi “Coup de Coeur” Award at Midem, the international music market, what’s happening now for Webdoc, the small Swiss start-up specializing in rich media content for social networks?

Things clearly changed for our company after it received this award,” says Stelio Tzonis, Managing Director and cofounder of Webdoc. “Doors have opened, including outside Vivendi. With Universal Music, we were able to create innovative interactive campaigns with the fans of such bands and artists as Nirvana, Nelly Furtado, Il Volo and Swedish House Mafia, and other campaigns are in the works.”

Sandrine Dufour, Vivendi’s Executive Vice President Innovation, explains further: “This award, presented by a jury in which all of our subsidiaries were represented, allows the group and its businesses to create extremely stimulating, inspiring connections with young, innovative digital businesses.”

According to Tzonis, “Not long after receiving the award, we found ourselves talking with the Universal Music teams in France and in the UK about original ways to promote their artists using the platform we’d developed.”

This was a win-win dialogue that led to the development of a new software version: “A major upgrade will soon be online,” Tzonis says. Meetings with other group businesses should take place in the fall. “You have to understand, we’re just a small team,” Tzonis says, smiling. “We can’t do everything at once!”
