Vivendi’s second Sustainable Development Seminar (March 29th-30th 2012)

A_la_une_Seminaire_logophilactère_VAVivendi’s second Sustainable Development Seminar took place at its head office on March 29 & 30, 2012. It brought together some 120 participants and 30 speakers, including various top managers from head office and subsidiaries around the world. This two-day event was an opportunity for employees to share their ideas with each other and to hear the views of our main stakeholders. The three topics on the agenda were “Sustainable Development and Innovation”, “Young & Digital life: What stakes?”, and “Sustainable Development and Growth.”

The sessions were introduced by Jean-René Fourtou, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Jacqueline Tammenoms Bakker, member of the Supervisory Board and Jean-François Dubos, General Counsel of the group, while Jean-Bernard Lévy, CEO & Chairman of the Management Board, closed the seminar by drawing the prospects for the group.

The afternoon of March 29, dedicated to the topic “Young & Digital life: What stakes?”, was open to the public. It comprised two main sessions, one dedicated to “Challenges: online reputation, privacy, time consuming“ and the other to “Opportunities: giving a voice to young people, citizenship, democracy.“ These sessions, which brought together representatives of the European Commission, the Internet Governance Forum, the Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL) and experts from civil society, were facilitated by young Europeans. In the context of the Pan-EU Youth program, an online platform for self-expression that Vivendi supports, a group of young ambassadors was formed to share these ideas over the long term.
